China 2010
In November, 2010 Robert was honored to have ninety of his scenic and nature photos exhibited by the Chinese government in the Shanxi Provincial library of Taiyuan, China. Robert and Kathy traveled with a small group from the ACCTS ministry, based in Denver, to China to take part in the opening ceremony for the exhibit. This was the first phase of a cultural exchange agreement between the Chinese officials in Taiyuan and ACCTS. There were speeches by Robert and numerous Chinese officials, including the vice-governor of Shanxi Province, a ribbon cutting ceremony, wonderful banquets, and various tours of that region, all associated with the exhibit and the ongoing work that ACCTS is doing in that region. Local TV stations and newspaper reporters were there as well. "The Chinese treated us like royalty, and I was personally overwhelmed by their warmth and hospitality, as well as the quality of the prints in the exhibit", says Robert about the experience. The photos in this gallery depict not only the ceremony and exhibit, but also many of the travel scenes Robert captured in the Taiyuan and Beijing regions, including the Great Wall and the Forbidden City.
